Millers Professional Imaging is holding a Miller’s Pet Contest and I want to win some cool prizes.
Entering contests is also a good way to challenge yourself and build your portfolio – especially when things are quiet.
Well things at the McSiler Photography home studio are NOT quiet! Our dogs are proud parents to nine black labrador puppies! Hmmm divine intervention? Divine inspiration – or just nature taking it’s coincidental course?!
For the next 10 days, I will be taking pictures of our cute “little” family in hopes of coming up with the best entry possible.
Needless to say, taking pictures of puppies can be a challenge. First, this is their first week of life. Their eyes are not open and they sleep a lot. A sleeping puppy makes for an ADORABLE portrait.
But on the other hand . . . that’s about it. Here’s the puppy sleeping at this angle, sleeping at that angle . . . I started waking this poor little girl up just to get some sort of action!
Here’s my “action” shot . . .
Prior to settling for the sleeping puppy, I, of course, wanted a shot of nine puppies in a row. Shoot, they sleep all the time – how hard can that be to have them all facing the right way for a quick shot? I placed all sleeping puppies one by one in a row facing the same way . . . yea right
Come July 18th, I hope to have several pictures that I will want everyone to vote on to find that special one that I will submit to the contest.
The adventure begins!
